When Our Athletes Win, CANADA WINS Support Sport Excellence
Home » CANADA WINS »Campaign Overview
Campaign When Canadian athletes win, it bolsters our national pride and provides valuable role models inspiring Canadians to lead healthy, active lives.

Our athletes may win for Canada, but they take their medals home and instill even greater pride and are a source of inspiration within their communities.

When our athletes win, it encourages more people to get involved in sport, which raises the health and wellness of our country. When more youth are involved in sport, the greater their chances are of leading healthy, productive lives.

When our athletes win – CANADA WINS.

CANADA WINS is the $110 million capital campaign for WinSport Canada. This initiative is for all Canadians and therefore the CANADA WINS campaign is national in scope with a national campaign cabinet, including a national athlete council.

These funds will allow WinSport Canada to build our nation's first winter sport institute – it will be the incubator for high performance Canadian athletes and a place that develops and inspires young people to be the best they can be.

Just as athletes discover, develop and excel, so do facilities. We are at a critical stage, where the enhancement and expansion of our winter sport facilities is necessary to ensure that our athletes are training at a world-class level. And building on the 1988 Olympic legacy facilities means progress. It means evolution: the evolution of an athlete – and the evolution of the facilities they train on to enter a new level excellence.

WinSport Canada has taken on this challenge for more than two decades. But we need to make a major investment to bring all our facilities up to the calibre that challenges our high performance contenders and continues to attract recreational athletes. With that investment, WinSport Canada has the business plan and the operational expertise to continue to manage, maintain and enhance the facilities for many years to come. Our endowment funds, which have been professionally managed over the past 20 years, will continue to provide the operational support for our programs now and into the future.
