Our long running freestyle ski program has achieved many milestones and will continue to charge through new boundaries of freestyle. COP Freeskiers will pilot the CFSA CanFree program introducing two new stages of development to the Canadian Freestyle LTAD. This season we're launching a new mogul training site and new curriculums that include mogul and ski cross progressions.

COP Ski Cross Team - Ages 11 to 18, intermediate to
advanced skiers

Riding the wave of success at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, ski
cross has made its impact across the country. COP is excited to provide a
new training venue and programming in this action packed sport.
New
training terrain will give coaches the tools they need to walk
athletes through the step by step processes of ski cross.

- Sessions: Monday and Wednesday 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

RBC Jumps & Bumps Program - Ages: 6 to 9, intermediate to advanced skiers - CanFree 1 LTAD Fundamentals

This program is a national introduction to freestyle skiing and COP hosts one of the largest Jumps and Bumps programs in the country. Our coaches will explore introductory skills in moguls, park/pipe and ski cross. With two trips to the mountains and two evening freestyle sanctioned events, these athletes will get a great head start to freestyle skiing in Canada.
- Start Date: December 1 or December 4
- Sessions: Wednesdays 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm or Saturdays 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
- Mountain trip: Norquay - January 9 and Lake Louise - February 27
- Program cost: $549
Additional Costs: COP lift passes/season pass and transportation for mountain trips.

Freestylerz - Ages 8 to 12, CanFree 2, LTAD Learn to Train

New from the CFSA, Freestylerz will emphasize strong turning and basic jumping, mogul and terrain park foundations. Coaches will introduce acrobatic skills and how to train as an athlete. Skiers will also enter fun-club and inter-club competitions.
- Start Date: December 1
- Sessions: Wednesdays 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Competitions: Expect to travel twice for inter-club events TBD in Alberta.

Freeskiers
Performance 'B' Team - Ages 14 to 18, LTAD Learn to Train, Learn
to Compete

The 'B' team is an in-depth look into the world of
freestyle. It is for the competitive athlete looking to
pursue their freestyle passions above and beyond the provincial level.
Get involved with this team and expect to travel across the country in
pursuit of events to heighten your provincial and FIS status in pipe, park and mogul events. This group begins in September with strength and
conditioning/trampoline sessions included in registration fees. Athletes must
have provincial/national competition experience.
- Schedule: September - April (determined by the coach)
- Competitions:
Provincials, Jr./Sr. Nationals, Canadian Series

Additional Costs: upgraded membership fees, competition
fees, travel costs and additional camp costs.

Freeskiers Team - Ages 11 to 16, CanFree 3, LTAD Train to Train
|
These athletes are expected to take on the province and compete at inter-club,
provincial level events and fight for Jr. National positions. Learning
how to train as a competitive athlete is the focus of this group. They
will train and compete in all disciplines of freestyle including a new
mogul training facility. Year-round training such as water ramp camps
and trampoline programs are strongly encouraged at this stage.
- Start Date: November 23
- Sessions: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
- Competitions: Club, inter-club and provincial events. Expect 2-4 traveling events around Alberta on weekends.

Performance 'A' Team - Ages 16 and up, LTAD Learn and Train to Win

The 'A' Team is a program to pursue the park and pipe passions of highly skilled Alberta athletes. This group will take on national and international challenges in pursuit of freestyle greatness in one of the most progressive sports in the world. Registration and team selection subject to provincial or FIS ranking and coach discretion. Please set up a meeting to discuss registration.

Freeskiers Recreational Program - Ages 11 to 16, intermediate to advanced skiers

This recreational group is strictly a weeknight group that trains at COP during the evening operating hours. The coaches will safely progress athletes through the terrain parks and other elements to get the most of their skiers in a recreational atmosphere. This group will concentrate on the simple side of freestyle, making friends and having fun.
