Junior Snowboard Club Freeride - Ages 8 to 10, LTAD Fundamentals
|
This program will educate riders and teach them how to navigate the terrain park. Club participants will also compete in their first event and ride in the mountains with their coach. The Junior Snowboard Club is a great way to start a snowboarding career with plenty of fun on and off the hill.
- Start Date: December 3 or December 7
- Sessions: Wednesdays 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm or Saturdays 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Must be confident riding chair lifts and snowboarding blue terrain

Junior Snowboard Club Competitive - Ages 8 to 12, LTAD Learn to Train

This team will maintain a fun learning environment and will experience entry-level club and inter-club competitions. Groups will progress to a slightly higher level of riding in all snowboarding disciplines while developing their fundamental riding abilities.

- Sessions: Wednesday nights 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm and Saturday mornings 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

- Mountain Trips: Norquay - January 22 and Lake Louise - February 26

Competitions: Expect to compete in rail jams, snowboard cross, halfpipe and slopestyle mini jams. Most events are located at COP.

COP Snowboard Team - Ages 11 to 16, LTAD Train to Train

This development snowboard team will challenge the FIS and non FIS athlete to their first experiences as a true athlete. Coaches will test their groups to perform at a competition level while working on the fundamentals of each discipline of snowboarding. Dryland off season training is recommended. (see Dryland options).

- Sessions:
Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
- Competitions: Club, inter-club and provincial events. Expect 2-4 traveling events around Alberta on weekends.

Development 'B' Team - Ages 12 to 18, LTAD Learn to Train, Learn to Compete
|
This is for the rider who is dedicated to the training it takes to become an athlete in one or all disciplines of snowboarding. This team will begin with strength and conditioning early in the season and won't quit until the last turns are available. Starting to specialize, however, athletes must be keen to compete in halfpipe, slopestyle and boarder cross.

Development 'A' Team - Ages 16 and up, LTAD Learn to Compete

Starting September 1, this team is set to become one of the best teams in the country and dedicated to produce this country's next superstar in snowboarding. From Dew Tour qualifiers, Burton Open to local rail jams, this group will train to compete with the best coaching and attitudes in the country. Selection of team is coach-determined and requires an interview with the coach and club manager.

Snowboard Development
Recreational Program - Ages 11 to 16, intermediate to advanced riders
|
This recreational group is strictly a weeknight group that trains at COP during the evening. The coaches will safely progress athletes through the terrain parks and our other facilities to get the most of their riders in a recreational atmosphere. Not being a part of the competition world or a member of another weekend club will allow this group to concentrate on the simple side of Freestyle, making friends and having fun.

This rising sport has everyone's attention and this program is willing to fully participate in the training and competition resources of snowboard cross. Attending races at Lake Louise and training on our fulltime track these groups will have everything they need to fuel the fire that is snowboard cross.
