What is it?
Overlooking downtown Calgary at the site of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, Canada Olympic Park's Challenge course offers your group a unique and interactive way to develop and improve team performance through a series of activities. By combining individual efforts, participants will discover the magnitude of what can be accomplished as a cohesive group.

Challenge Course Components:
Our skilled team of course facilitators will work with you to develop a Challenge Course package tailored to your group's needs. The Challenge Course benefits are unique to each individual and group. During the progression of initiatives from low ropes to high ropes many outcomes are possible. The potential for personal growth is unlimited. Your customized team building package can consist of any or all of the three Challenge Course development areas:

  1. Team Initiatives: Our Challenge Course facilitators will lead your group through a number of teambuilding exercises - low or on the ground. The only way to succeed is to work together as a team, through communication and motivation and creatively solve each challenge presented while having fun at the same time.
  2. Low Ropes Course: With more than 24 different elements under three feet high, this Course is an excellent way to challenge your team mentally and physically. While traversing distance, using limited resources, your group's focus will be physical agility, cooperation and problem-solving skills. The Low Ropes Course is a great warm-up to the High Ropes Course.
  3. High Ropes Course: The High Ropes Course will inspire your team to take calculated risks at over 30 feet above the ground. Work together to complete various elements - ascending, descending and traversing, all while confronting your fears, developing self-confidence, and building trust in your team. Participants who choose to stay more "grounded" will support climbers with belaying and communication. Teamwork at its peak!

Amazing Race

What is it?
Canada Olympic Park was the staging area for the 2004 season finale of the wildly popular CBS reality TV series, The Amazing Race. Since taking on this starring role, the Park has offered a fun, exciting version of the race, available year-round and suitable for both warm and cold weather. This unique package offers various challenges that cater to a number of corporate team building and group objectives. With questionnaires in hand, your team begins its adventure from the daylodge in a challenging foot race and timed search for clues. With options for physical, mental or team building challenges, or a mix of all three, you can design your outing with a limitless potential for different experiences.

The Game Changer

What is it?
Does the discussion in your office lunchroom centre around what happened last night on Minute to Win it, Wipeout or Jeopardy? If so, we have the perfect challenge for your team.

The Game Changer is COP's newest team building offering. It gives members of your office the opportunity to compete in some of the most fun and exciting challenges from today's most popular game shows.

Divided into smaller teams, your office will compete against each other in a number of different challenges. Some of the challenges are physical, some are mental. Some challenges will require the whole group and some will require just one team member. The challenges are fast, fun and will require the combined skill sets of the entire team.

The emphasis of this program is fun. You may find yourself running around with a kite tied to your back or taking your turn jumping up and down with a pedometer trying to reach a high score. Your staff will laugh and joke about this activity for weeks afterwards and the shared experiences will create an incredible bond amongst the team.

Corporate Survivors

What is it?
Fashioned after the hit TV reality show, your group will be put to the test to not only survive the game, but emphasize exemplary teamwork and communication. Each group is divided into evenly numbered teams that face off against each other through four rounds of competitions that challenge each participant both physically and mentally. Points are awarded at the end of each round and the team with the most points at the end of the game will be declared Corporate Survivors! Challenges run the gamut from individual and team physical challenges, such as an obstacle course and relay races, to mental challenges such as brain teasers and timed questions, as well as combination challenges of the body and the mind.

Great for small and large groups alike, and adaptable to all ages, with options for exclusively indoor activities or a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities.

The Great Escape

What is it?
Looking for something a little more extreme in your pursuit of a team building experience? This team building activity takes place in the wooded eastlands area of the Park. Teams will be provided with a backpack of supplies that includes a map and passport that will guide them through the winding trails, babbling creeks and thick trees in search of activity stations, clues, treasure and, of course, a one-of-a-kind team building experience.

Your group will feel like they are miles away from the city while they participate in this exciting outdoor adventure and will be treated to activity stations that will have them escaping from jail, maneuvering through obstacle courses, solving life-sized puzzles, searching for treasure and racing to the finish.

The Great Escape has been created to cater to groups looking for exactly that - an escape. The immense area of space used for this activity ensures a private experience for you and your group, and will include a fair amount of physical activity. If you are tired of simply talking about becoming a stronger team, and instead want to get out and become one, then the Great Escape experience will do just that for your team.

Snapshot Scavenger Hunt

What is it?
With an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship and problem solving, the Snapshot Scavenger Hunt is far from a garden-variety scavenger hunt. Whether it's capturing your team's photo from the breathtaking vantage point on the observation deck of the ski jump tower with the 1988 Olympic torch, or taking in the intimidating view from the top of the Olympic Track, this unique challenge will have you racing and laughing from start to finish.

Teams are provided with a list of picture challenges to capture from different areas within the Park. The team that is able to capture the most photos within the required time limit will be heralded as the winner. This experience can be tailored to indoors.
