Discover Hockey (Ages 4-5 or 6-8 or 9-12)

Discover Hockey is for those who are looking for an introduction to playing the game of hockey in a positive learning environment, or are not ready for the commitment of a community team. Players will work with our coaches on developing their on-ice fundamental skills, including skating, puck handling, passing, shooting and offensive creativity and then apply them in a fun game to finish off each week's session. Players must be at least novice skaters with the ability to stand and skate forward in a controlled manner. Full hockey equipment is required.

Youth Power Skating (Ages 6 to 8 or 9 to 12, intermediate to advanced skaters)

Recommended prerequisite: Learn to Skate Level 3 or higher or hockey/ringette experience
Youth Power Skating is for those looking to improve their skating skills, power, speed and endurance. With specialized instruction on skills such as explosive starts and stops, edge control acceleration, turning and more, our team of instructors will work with each participant to help meet their goals, whether that is making a new team or simply becoming a better skater. This program is designed for hockey and ringette players and requires full equipment.

WinSport is proud to offer, in partnership with Hockey Canada, summer Hockey Camps at the Markin MacPhail Centre!
WinSport Hockey Camps offer a unique experience for both male and female hockey players aged 6 - 12 years. Not only are we dedicated to developing your child in the sport of hockey, we also have a distinctive off-ice program to foster physical activity, athleticism, confidence building, fair play and positive social interactions.
Summer camps run Monday to Friday in July and August. Register early as we do sell out!

Looking to get your child into hockey? Our Discover Hockey Camps are a week-long introduction to playing the game in a fun and positive learning environment. Players will work with coaches twice a day on developing their on-ice fundamental skills, including skating, puck handling, passing and shooting through exciting drills and games. Round out each day with fun off-ice activities such as mini golf, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, and ball hockey skills clinics and games. Players must be comfortable skating on their own with the ability to stand and skate forward in a controlled manner. Full hockey equipment is required.

The summer is the perfect time of year to continue to grow your child's passion for hockey and improve their skills. Each day combines power skating and skill development through two daily ice times featuring Hockey Canada instructors, while the off-ice program focuses on fundamental movement and sport skills through stickhandling and shooting clinics, dry land training, as well as other fun and challenging activities like wall climbing, mini golf, zip lining (for older age groups), low ropes courses and team building initiatives through the unique experiences only COP has to offer.
- The 6 - 8 year old group's first session will be on ice so please be dressed in full hockey gear

Bikes and Blades Camp Ages 7-9 or 10-12
|
Experience the best of both summer and winter as Hockey Camp meets Mountain Bike Camp! WinSport's Bikes & Blades Camp combines the weekly activities of our Hockey Camp but adds the cross-training elements of mountain biking. Each day offers two daily ice times featuring Hockey Canada instructors, two hours of mountain biking with our trained team of instructors, as well as other fun and challenging off-ice activities only available at COP.
- Mountain Bike Required Equipment: bike helmet (CSA certified required), mountain bike with minimum hand brakes and adequate tread on tires (Rentals are available if needed)
- Mountain Bike Recommended Equipment: Gloves, elbow, knee and shin pads (full-face helmet highly recommended)
