From beginner to advanced, WinSport mountain bike summer camps offer every rider a unique and exciting summer experience found only at Canada Olympic Park. Terrain found at WinSport ranges from paved surfaces, Cross Country trails, and Alberta's only lift-access downhill trails.

Summer camps run Monday to Friday in July and August. Sign up your active kid for a summer experience that will wear them out!

Current Summer and Annual Passholders receive a 10% discount on all Mountain Bike Camps and Programs! Discount is calculated in your cart at the end of your purchase. (Discount is available only for passholders who have a valid summer/annual pass at the time of the program sessions.)

Please Note:

  • Programs must meet minimum enrollment numbers to avoid cancellation
  • Refund/Cancellation Policy available online or at Guest Services
  • All activities subject to change
  • Hill Tickets are included in the program price
  • Lunch Program is optional and may only be purchased for the entire week
  • Before/After Care is available if needed at no additional charge
  • Bike rentals are available for those needed at an additional cost

Mountain Bike Ability Level Guide
Level 6 You are a downhill or freeride mountain biker who is confident riding all types of terrain including large jumps, drops and narrow elevated trail sections.
  • Recommended programs: Academy Programs, Private Lessons
  • Trails: all trails
Level 5 You are a strong and confident rider who is comfortable on steep and technical terrain and will attempt small to moderate drops and jumps.
  • Recommended programs: Private Lessons, Norco Performance Camp, Academy Team Programs
  • Trails: all trails except double black diamond
Level 4 You have been mountain biking for at least two years. You are capable of controlling bike speed and direction on moderately steep and technical single track trails.
  • Recommended programs: Private Lessons, Youth (Ages 6-8), Youth (Ages 9-11), Teen (Ages 12-14), For The Girls (Ages 6-9, 10-14), Norco Performance Camp
  • Trails: green and blue trails only
Level 3 You have limited experience riding off-road terrain. You are capable of controlling bike speed and direction on gentle single track trails and slightly uneven surfaces and are ready to begin using lift-accessed trails.
  • Recommended programs: Private Lessons, Youth (Ages 6-8), Youth (Ages 9-11), Teen (Ages 12-14), For The Girls (Ages 6-9, 10-14)  
  • Trails: green trails only
Level 2 You have limited experience on a bike. You can control bike speed and direction on paved surfaces, but have little or no experience riding off-road terrain.
  • Recommended programs: Private Lessons, Discover Mountain Biking, Freeride in 3 Rides, Preschool  (Ages 4-5), Youth (Ages 6-8), Youth (Ages 9-11), Teen (Ages 12-14), For The Girls (6-9, 10-14)
  • Trails: green trails only
Level 1 You have little or no experience on a bike, you are using training wheels or have trouble keeping the front wheel straight while riding.
  • Recommended programs: Private Lessons, Preschool (Ages 4-5 yrs)
  • Trails: green trails only (under the supervision of a Bike Park Guide)

Recommended equipment (Levels 1-3): gloves, elbow, knee and shin pads, helmet mandatory (CSA certified required), mountain bike with front suspension, minimum hand brakes required, adequate tread on tires

Recommended equipment (Levels 4-6): gloves, elbow, knee and shin pads, mountain bike with front suspension and a minimum of four inches of travel (dual suspension suggested), minimum hand brakes required (disc brakes suggested), adequate tread on tires, helmet mandatory (full-face helmet highly recommended), chest and spine protection

Preschool (Ages 4-5, Levels 1-2)

Perhaps they've even started to branch out into off-terrain trails and hitting some downhill courses. Now they're ready for the next adventure! What is the perfect summer activity for them? A WinSport Youth Mountain Bike camp! Led by our fun and highly regarded instructors, they will learn how to ride and maneuver their bikes on new terrain.

Know any older kids that love the outdoors, are always on the move, and thrive on learning new skills? The WinSport Teen Mountain Bike Program will progress riders in all aspects of freeride mountain biking. Groups will work with our highly regarded and trained instructors to develop their biking skills on all types of terrain from single track to dirt jumps.

For the Girls (Ages 6-9 and 10-14, Levels 2-4)

Mountain biking is a great activity for both boys and girls, but sometimes learning with a group of peers is a little less intimidating. For the Girls programs provide an inclusive and fun biking environment that helps foster confidence building and increased skill development through a relaxed, social environment. Don't get left out on all that riding has to offer!

Norco Performance Camp (Ages 12-14 and 15-17, Levels 4-5)

Norco BicyclesAre you a pretty confident rider? Like testing your skills on steep terrain while trying out some drops and jumps? We have the perfect summer camp for you. Spend July 15-19 with Norco pro riders Sam Dueck and Jay Hoots! Slopestyle specialist Sam will teach you lots of new tricks of the trade with a little help from freestyler Jay. Norco athletes are more than riders - they are role models who give back to the community and the sport. They are all-around great people and, yes, they are some of the best mountain bikers in the world, riding everything, everywhere!

Looking to get out on your bike, but would like a little extra time with a qualified instructor? Our Private Lessons are two hours of individual instruction tailored to your specific biking needs and interests. Lessons are one-on-one, or for a small fee -build your riding confidence with a friend. A great option to get anyone in your family started in this exciting and fast-growing sport.
