Winsport's Canada Olympic Park is host to one of the best Ski and Snowboard Schools in Canada! From beginners to advanced-level athletes, a wide variety of streamlined lessons and instructional programs are available and taught by some of Canada's best coaches and instructors. Here at WinSport we are passionate about inspiring people to continue their personal and athletic development through winter sports, engaging and creating life-long winter sport enthusiasts.

Ski Ability Level Guide
Standardized and in partnership with Lake Louise Ski Area and Nakiska Mountain Resort Lake Louise Nakiska
Level 1
(beginner)
First time skier or have tried the activity once or twice many years ago
Level 2
(beginner/novice)
You have skied a couple of times on easy green runs. You can stop in a wedge and perform basic turns. You are still in the beginner area.
Level 3
(novice)
You can comfortably make linked turns in the beginner area and on green runs and you are now using the chair lift. You are starting to match your skis parallel and are progressing onto easy blue runs.
Level 4
(intermediate)
You are confident on all green runs and easy blue groomed runs. Your skis are mostly parallel throughout the entire turn.
Level 5
(advanced)
You ski blue runs in all conditions and are comfortable on groomed black runs enjoying the challenge of harder terrain. You are comfortable with varied terrain. (Private lessons or academy programs)
Level 6
(expert)
You ski all runs in all conditions, and are carving through your entire turn. You enjoy the challenge of moguls and are confident with ungroomed and challenging varied terrain. (Private lessons or academy programs)
Snowboard Ability Level Guide

Level 1
(beginner)
First time snowboarder or have tried the activity once or twice many years ago.
Level 2
(beginner/novice)
You can traverse on both edges and are starting to link some basic turns on beginner terrain.
Level 3
(novice)
You can link turns on all green terrain and you are comfortable using the chairlift.
Level 4
(intermediate)
You can link turns confidently on all green and groomed blue terrain. Interested in learning basic tricks and freestyle manoeuvres.
Level 5
(advanced)
You can ride blue runs in all conditions and enjoy the challenge of groomed black runs and the terrain park.
Level 6
(expert)
You can ride all terrain in all conditions and are confident in the terrain park.
