Every year our volunteers contribute more than 34,000 hours and provide essential front-line support to our programs, activities, administration and events. WinSport volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. While many of our volunteer positions include a sport element, there are volunteer roles that do not require a sport background at all.

We are looking for friendly, engaging, and eager volunteers, who enjoy meeting new people and helping others.

Administration

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Volunteer behind the scenes to help support administration within a variety of departments including: Team & Culture, Marketing, Fundraising, Sport, School Programs

 Year Round

 Depending on the department, minimum of one shift per week or on an on-call basis

Events Team

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Support the various events WinSport hosts including concerts, parties, picnics, sport games and competitions.

 Year Round

 Minimum of 40 hours each year, schedule is as needed based on the various events

Strong verbal communication skills

Comfortable in a fast pace environment

Performance Training Centre Attendant

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Spend your volunteer time in our Performance Training Centre

 Year Round

 Minimum commitment of one shift per week

Experience working in a gym environment

Minimum age 18

Program Assistant (Hockey and Skate)

 Supporting the Hockey and/or Skate lessons, volunteers will work with our dedicated team to provide a safe, supportive and engaging experience for participants.

 September - June

 Minimum commitment of one shift per week

Skating or hockey experience

 Greet guests, answer questions and provide support to guests on ice during public skating.

Junior Instructor Program
WinSport’s Junior Instructor program is designed for middle and high school students seeking experience to grow their resume and develop their leadership skills.

Summer Camp Junior Instructor

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

Support Instructors with group supervision and a diverse range of recreational activities for children in our summer camp programs.

Summer (July – August)

 Minimum of 80 hours (two weeks of camp) + one week of training the first week of July

Minimum age 13

Experience working with children

Mountain Bike Junior Instructor

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Share your passion for mountain biking with children in our Mountain Bike Camp and help provide a safe and fun learning experience.

 Summer (July – August)

 Minimum of 80 hours (two weeks of camp) + one weekend (two days) of training in June

Previous experience volunteering in a camp environment

Confident mountain biking skills

Experience working with children

Minimum age 14

Hockey Junior Instructor

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Spend your summer on ice helping children strengthen their hockey skills.

 Summer (July – August)

 Minimum of 80 hours (two weeks of camp) + one week of training the first week of July

Help children develop their ringette skills, while supporting the Instructors to deliver the Ringette Camp program.

 Minimum of 80 hours (two weeks of camp) + one day of training in July

Previous ringette experience

Strong skating ability

Experience working with children

Minimum age 13

Snow School Junior Instructor

Outline Season Min. Time Requirement Qualifications

 Be on snow, supporting the Instructors to deliver Snow School lessons.

 Winter (November – April)

 Minimum of 80 hours + two days of training

Skiing or snowboarding experience.

Strong skiing or snowboarding ability.

Experience working with children.

Minimum age 13.
