WinSport Girls Only Athlete & Leadership Program
By age 14, girls are dropping out of sports at six times the rate of boys. Recognizing that Canada is home to some of the best elite female athletes in the world, the GOAL Program wants to celebrate girls staying in sport, cultivate interest in winter sport and develop opportunities for the young female athletes of tomorrow.

We will be offering 2 options to get involved in this invaluable program:

WinSport GOAL program - 5 week
In this 5-week program, girls will participate in a variety of sports including skiing, snowboarding, hockey and trampoline, all of which are supported by weekly dryland training. A specific technical coach will be present at each session to coach the specifics on each sport. The girls will also have the rewarding experience of developing a relationship with a mentor/coach who will inspire and encourage them. Mentorship has been regularly named one of the most valuable assets of this program. Studies have shown that a positive female role model can improve body image, self-esteem, and build confidence among girls. The GOAL Program aspires to keep girls happy, healthy, and active through sport and mentorship.

Meet Perri Ford
Perri will be our program mentor for both programs this year to inspire and motivate the participants and provide a positive female role model in sport.
Perri Ford comes to the GOAL program with a background as an elite athlete and a sport psychology professional. Her career started in Calgary as a youth multi-sport athlete where she developed a love for track and field. She competed at the national level before earning a scholarship to run NCAA Division 1 track for the University of Texas at Arlington.

Throughout her athletic experiences, Perri found a love for the world of mental performance and went on to earn an MA in Sport Psychology. She is a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA), and the owner of Bell Lap Mental Performance Coaching where she works with teams and individual athletes.

Perri is also a passionate advocate for women and girls in sport. Her academic research and applied work have been largely directed at addressing common themes in the female athlete experience. She believes that every girl’s sporting experience is unique, but the common challenges and celebrations deserve to be discussed.
